Bio

I was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in the suburbs in nearby Pennsville, NJ where I spent the first 18 years of my life. After graduating from high school, I started my journey through college at the University of Vermont. A quick detour after freshman year landed me at DeVry University in Ft. Washington, PA. I graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Network & Communications Management.

I am huge geek. Probably more than most people will ever know. I have worked in the Information Technology field for the last 10 years. I’m currently working for Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina in Columbia, SC, which could only be better if it was directly adjacent to Citizens Bank Park.

I think its safe to say that I love the Philadelphia Phillies. I love Philly sports in general, but I have a special relationship with the Phillies in particular. Some of my earliest memories as a kid are of my Dad taking me to the Vet to catch a glimpse of Mike Schmidt playing third base. I had the pleasure of meeting Tug McGraw (God rest his soul) and getting his autograph, and his smile and how friendly he was to me are things I will never forget. I remember Game 6 of the ’93 World Series like it was yesterday. I cried as Joe Carter rounded the bases and recall my Dad saying, “Son, you had better get used to this. It’s called being a Philadelphia sports fan.” For the most part, my old man was right. I’ve had my heart broken more by the sports teams I follow than by any girl I’ve ever dated. But the truth is I would take all of the letdowns and disappointment in a heartbeat over being a fair-weather fan like the people in Florida, Arizona, or Los Angeles.

The irony of crying over baseball when I was 10 years old is that 15 years later I would be doing it again for a different reason. I watched Game 5 (Part Duex) of the 2008 World Series at a dive bar in South Jersey, and was wiping the tears from my face with my rally towel when Brad Lidge threw that final pitch to Eric Hinske.

In my spare time I play golf, hockey, and soccer, and I also brew beer. I also play paintball quite a bit, something I enjoyed early on in college but only now have really been able to get in to seriously. I really, really like bacon. A lot.

As much as I enjoy all of these things, the thing that I am most passionate about is the relationship I have with my wife Ashley. Its not very often that you meet a beautiful woman who is also intelligent, level-headed, and willing to deal with my antics on a daily basis. Did I mention that she loves the Phillies, lets me stink up the house with the smell of boiling malt and hops, and generally just overlooks my weirdness for the most part? Yeah, she’s pretty awesome. She is my best friend, and I am very fortunate to have her in my life. Have I mentioned I also like bacon?

What else can I say? I’ve got great friends, a loving and supportive family, and an amazing wife.

And I hate the f*cking New York Mets, oh so much.
